Sallie Hemenway is the Director of the Division of Business and Community Services (BCS) in the Missouri Department of Economic Development.  This group works toward achieving the Department's mission to make Missouri the best place to live, work, play and do business.  The BCS Sales, Marketing, Research, Finance and Compliance staff provide both technical assistance and financial assistance to Missouri's businesses and communities.  The goals include facilitating the creation of new jobs, stimulating private investment, supporting community activities that expand local and state growth, and creating an entrepreneurial environment.  Sallie has been with state government in the Department of Economic Development for sixteen years.  She has worked previously in local government and in the private sector.

Sallie has served on the Board of the Council of State Community Development Agencies, a national community development advocacy organization.  She currently serves on the Board of the Missouri Economic Development Finance Association and is also a member of the International Economic Development Council and the Missouri Economic Development Council.

Sallie graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1981.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and majored in Marketing.  She attended Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies as a Fannie Mae Fellow, completing the State and Local Executives Program.  She has attained her Professional Economic and Community Developer status (CEcD) and has also received the National Development Council Housing Finance Professional certification.  A St. Louis native, she maintains an apartment near her work in Jefferson City, but resides on a farm in rural western Missouri.

 
Senator David Pearce   represents the 31st District in the Missouri Senate which covers the counties of Bates, Cass, Johnson and Vernon.  He was elected to the Missouri Senate in November 2008 after completing three, two-year terms in the Missouri House of Representatives.  Pearce serves as chair of the Educated Citizenry 2020 Committee, vice-chair of the Senate Education Committee and was appointed to serve on the Senate Select Committee on Oversight of Federal Stimulus for his knowledge in the area of defense. 

A graduate of Warrensburg High School, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural journalism from the University of Missouri in 1984.  Pearce resides in rural Warrensburg with his wife and two children.

 
David Rauch   joined United States Senator Claire McCaskill's staff as Director for the Southwest Missouri region in February 2007.  David's background includes a twenty-six year career in public service with Missouri state government.  From 1979-1989 he served as a Missouri State Representative from the Lafayette County area.  In 1989 he was appointed to serve as a commissioner on the Missouri Public Service Commission where he served as the Commission's Vice Chairman for four years and later as the agency's executive director for three years.  He worked for five years for then-State Treasurer Bob Holden as the Assistant Director of Policy for the Division of Unclaimed Property.  Mr. Rauch received a Bachelor Degree in History from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri and a Masters of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in Boston, Massachusetts.  Mr. Rauch has held a Missouri Real Estate license for more than twenty years.  He currently resides in Billings, where he has served on the Billings Board of Aldermen and the Billings R-IV School Board.  He is an active member of St. Peter's Evangelical United Church of Christ and has served the church in various capacities.  He was a founding member of the Billings Betterment Association and the German-Austrian-Swiss Heritage Society of the Ozarks.

  

Karen Bradshaw  is the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Missouri Southern State University.  She teaches entrepreneurship courses in the areas of marketing, business planning and new business formation.  She has worked as a consultant with the MSSU Small Business & Technology Development Center since 1987, where she has consulted with over 1,500 small businesses.  She teaches SBTDC workshops on computer software usage, marketing and business planning for area businesses.

 
Kathy Macomber   is the Business Development Specialist with the University of Missouri Extension, Small Business Development Center in Barton County.  In her current role, Kathy provides individualized confidential, no-cost business consultation to entrepreneurs in sixteen counties in southwest Missouri.  She delivers low-cost training and workshops on business planning, marketing strategies and financial analysis.

Prior to joining the Extension, Macomber was a Treasury Analyst for a Fortune 500 manufacturer.  Her prior experience includes work in large and small businesses, non-profits and serving on a school board.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota and a Master of Science in Administrative Studies/Communications focus from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.

 
Charles E. Johnson  serves as the Missouri Department of Economic Development Division of Workforce Development Supervisor at the Nevada, Missouri Career Center.  His varied background includes production agriculture, retail business ownership, newspaper editorial and county government.  In his position with workforce development, Charlie serves both individual job seekers and employers looking to fill open positions within their businesses.


 
Lisa Robinson  is a consultant with the Missouri Southern State University Small Business & Technology Development Center.  She specializes in small business accounting.  She has been with the SBTDC program since April 1993.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from MSSU and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University.
 



 
Patrick Tuttle  has been conducting workforce development and team building seminars in the Joplin region since returning home from serving twenty years in the US Air Force.  With his background in training and human resources, he uses Experiential Training as the basis for working with employees at all skill and experience levels.  Whether in manufacturing, retail, the service sector or not-for-profits, developing people to reach a new level of ability or understanding is what Patrick enjoys most in employee development.

Through his own company, Patrick Tuttle Seminars offers employee development topics that matter most in achieving higher team dynamics and greater individual potential.  The central objective is learning more about self and interconnected contributions to be made.  Key training topics include:  Leadership Development, Team Building, Customer Service, Problem Solving (The M.T.R. Model), Communication Skills, Time Management, Areas of Human Resources, Event and Meeting Management.


 

Joe Mullins is the manager of Marketing Applications for the Entrepreneurial Zone at the University of Central Missouri (UCM).  Joe manages the marketing development operations of the Center and consults directly with a number of business clients and start up entrepreneurs.  He is also responsible for the business education seminars provided to individuals and companies by the Entrepreneurial Zone and UCM on campus and remote locations.

Joe has experience in both consumer and business marketing, specifically in the areas of marketing strategy, market development, business development, relationship marketing, program management, competitive analysis, industry analysis and distribution strategies.  Joe is also experienced in the areas of finance and accounting.  He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from UCM, a Masters in Business Administration from Rockhurst University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Brent Jones has been with the Small Business Administration for eighteen years starting out as a loan servicing officer/collections.  In his current position as Lender Relations Specialist/Brand Manager in the Springfield, Missouri Branch Office, his duties include marketing to the public, bankers, loan consultation on appropriate loan programs and lender training for SBA programs.  His experience includes fifteen years in loans processing, three years as a small business owner, seven years in banking and ten years as a FDIC Bank Examiner.

Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Oklahoma State University.  He is a 33-gallon donor for the American Red Cross, a member of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce sitting on the Small Business Advisory Board, International Trade, and Manufacturer counsel.  He is a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church orchestra.

 

Bob May is a Kansas City native who grew up listening to Top 40 Radio and decided during high school that he wanted to be in the radio business.  Bob attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville and studied broadcasting.  He spent three years in the US Army, serving a year in Vietnam.

His professional radio career spans more than 30 years starting out as a DJ in St. Joseph.  Good managers along the way directed Bob into advertising sales and marketing, which he found to be more profitable and where he learned how to help businesses build customers and profits.  

In 1984, Bob and wife Maureen purchased their own radio station in Vinita, Oklahoma, built another station, and eventually sold the pair to partners.  Since then Bob has managed radio stations in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Virginia and Ohio.  In 2003, he returned to Missouri as Vice President and General Manager of KDKD Radio in Clinton, Missouri.
